Triathlon and bike fit

Triathlon and bike fit

Physical therapy for people who train for three sports. We look at how the swim, the bike and the run add up on one body, and at how your position on the bike carries into the run.

Is this for you

This care is for you if

  • The run feels worse after the bike

Your legs or back tighten off the bike, and the first miles are hard.

  • You train for three sports

You want a plan that sees the whole week, not one sport at a time.

  • You are changing your bike or position

A new frame or aero setup is a good time to check how you sit on it.

  • A shoulder or neck complaint comes up in the water

You want it looked at without losing the weeks.

What a visit looks like

What happens when you come in

  1. 01

Step 1: We look at your week

Swim, bike, run and strength: how many hours, in what order and where it feels hardest.

  2. 02

Step 2: We test and watch

Strength and motion tests, a look at your run, and your position on the bike if you bring it.

  3. 03

Step 3: We build a plan across all three

Strength and mobility work that fits around your sessions, and what to change first.

Good to know

Who treats you, how long it takes, how it is paid for

  • Who treats you

A licensed physical therapist: Trinidad Espino or Ezekiel Ivey. Their license lines are in the footer of every page.

    Meet the team
  • What decides how many visits

What we find, how your three sports are laid out across the week, and how near your next race is. We say at each visit what comes next.

  • How it is paid for

We bill most PPO plans and Medicare, and the front desk checks your benefits before you come in. If you pay yourself, you get a written estimate first.

When to see a doctor first

See a physician first, or call 911, if you have chest pain or trouble breathing, a sudden severe headache, numbness in the groin or loss of bladder or bowel control, a new weakness in a leg, or a fall or blow that could have broken a bone. If we find something at your visit that needs a physician, we tell you and help you get there.

Questions

Common questions

How long is a visit, and who treats me?

Your first visit is an hour with a physical therapist, Trinidad Espino or Ezekiel Ivey. Later visits are planned around what you need that week. You see the same therapist each time.

What should I wear and bring?

Running shorts, a top you can move in and the shoes you train in. Bring a second pair if you rotate shoes, a watch export or training log if you keep one, and your plan card.

How many visits will I need?

We cannot say before we have met you. What decides it: what we find in your assessment, what you are training for, how your body responds and how close your next race is. We tell you at each visit what comes next.
